No-exam life insurance
What fast-track underwriting is, which applicants qualify, how the process works, and what to expect if you need the standard exam.
A growing number of carriers now provide expedited underwriting: for applicants in particular age ranges and coverage amounts, they render a decision based on your application, pharmacy records, driving record, and other public information, bypassing the medical exam. Decisions can arrive within hours. Every quote here indicates whether the carrier needs an exam, might need one, or offers exam-free coverage for that specific plan.
What it changes
No exam does not mean no review. The carrier verifies your statements, and a policy based on untrue answers is contestable in the first two years. If information in the carrier's records creates uncertainty, they may still request a full exam or testing—at which point you choose whether to move ahead.
Who tends to qualify
Usually, applicants approaching age sixty or younger, seeking coverage within the carrier's expedited threshold, without significant health conditions and no tobacco use for a year or longer may qualify. Certain carriers will take recent lab work from your doctor visit instead of requiring a paramedical exam.
Should you need a medical exam, expect a session lasting 20 to 30 minutes with a licensed technician at a location of your choosing—your home or workplace in the Fullerton area—at no cost. When applicants are in good health, exam results frequently lead to a better rate classification, making an exam a potential advantage.
