Fullerton College, established in 1913, holds the distinction of being the oldest community college in continuous operation in California. It began as a two-year postgraduate program attached to Fullerton Union High School with just 26 freshman students and 10 courses. The college became an independent district in 1922 and relocated to its own 14-acre campus in 1936. Today it operates an 83-acre metropolitan campus with an annual budget of $87 million, serving approximately 21,000 students and offering programs ranging from traditional academic transfer degrees to vocational and technical certifications.

As part of the North Orange County Community College District, Fullerton College connects thousands of students annually to educational opportunity and workforce preparation. The college recently expanded its curriculum to include an American Indian and Indigenous Studies degree program, reflecting its commitment to serving all students in the community. Many Fullerton residents begin their higher education at Fullerton College before transferring to universities, including Cal State Fullerton just a few miles away.

Communities that prioritize education create space for their residents to grow and achieve. When a city is known as an education community, as Fullerton's own motto reflects, it signals to families that preparing the next generation is not an afterthought but a foundation. Life insurance serves the same purpose: it ensures that educational dreams and opportunities are not lost if the person earning the family's income is no longer there to fund them.
